Biography  Hillie

Hillie has been creative from a young age. She painted landscapes in oil on canvas from her teenage years. Clothing design also was a passion of hers and the fascination with fabrics made her switch from fine art to fibre art in the late 70's. Colour remained a strong part of her, as she dyed her wool, cottons and silks to be woven into yards of fabric.

In 1993 she moved to a farm in Niagara, where she raised a flock of 125 longwool sheep. She had a retail outlet on the farm, where she sold the creations made from the wool of the sheep, hosted a weekly spinning group, taught spinning, weaving and dying to children and adults.

In 2003, during a two year illness, she returned to her passion of painting in oils, which ultimately helped in her healing.

The process of painting sparked an interest in the world of subtle energies, into which she has emerged herself since 2005. Daily meditation and spiritual studies are part of her path and help her create her art. Hillie has an understanding of how creative expression stimulates the healing process. Having experienced it during her own healing, as well as learning an ancient healing method, that uses energy and intent, Hillie has come up with a  way that combines both. It uses the energy of the colours, it uses the act of painting to more easily go into that meditative state. Hillie teaches art that intents to bring out the true or authentic self. It is a part of us, the only true part of us, that many have lost. This disconnection is the main cause of all dis-ease.  To find out more about Hillie and Darrel's weekend retreat, please continue here....
